Vilu Light | Studio gt2P, DHPH

Chilean architecture and design studio gt2P, in collaboration with DHPH, has started a new collection of lighting called Vilu

The light collection was inspired by an old Chilean myth about two gigantic snakes that battle over a piece of land until islands are all that is left.

gt2P used the image of these islands to influence the combination of digital fabrication and traditional techniques. Organic curved edges let light through perforations that are used to bend the metal.

Occupants underneath the lighted area become enveloped by the space.
