Digital Origami Emergency Shelter | LAVA

It is hard to associate beauty with disaster, but the Sydney based practice, LAVA has shown that with great disasters, come great possibilities. Made form plywood cut to exact shapes and measurements using a CNC machine, this prototype is meant to house 2 adults and a child comfortably during all their day to day activities.

Although the exterior lines are a put hard and straight edged, the interior is carved to be a lot softer, creating surfaces for sitting and sleeping.
