‘Aesthetics 125’ | Mercedes-Benz

There’s really not much to say, only to look. Mercedes-Benz’s sculpture ‘Aesthetics No. 2′ takes the interior of the automobile, something become somewhat stale, and turns it into a work of design/art.

” On January 29th, Daimler celebrated 125 years since the day Carl Benz registered his ‘vehicle with gas-engine drive’ with the Berlin Patent Office in 1886. The celebration at the Mercedes-Benz World in Stuttgart was to reveal a new sculpture from the Mercedes-Benz design team, ‘Aesthetics 125.’ The latest design innovation by Mercedes-Benz, following the previously presented, ‘Aesthetics No. 1’ and ‘Aesthetics No. 2,’ proves once again the brand’s dedication to design with innovation and aesthetical experimentation. Apart from being an artwork itself, the sculpture provides an outlook on the future design language of Mercedes-Benz. The organic volume of, “Aesthetics 125” is a continuation of the philosophy of “Aesthetics No. 2.” Only this time, the exterior and interior are considered parts of the geometric continuum of a single curved volume. The impressive end result was made using innovative rapid-prototyping technology. “
