55, 000 LEDs Lightened Cathedral | Luminarie De Canga

The energy of the efficient electric lights gave quality to the space through forming and illuminating it and gathering people in it leaving a positive impact on them.

Light made it an event. When technology meets history. When the old is interpreted by the new, shaping the character of the space. The 55,000 LED colorful lights used to represent a cathedral of Renaissance and Romanesque type not just illuminating the space but giving a new special character and mood of joy and happiness.

That is how light could represent art. It draws a new picture and creates a new impact on people. As in normal or tradition, the architecture of the cathedral leaves an impact of fear and respect for God and for the religion.

However, the LED lights used drew a complete different picture with a complete different impact. Only the shape of the cathedral was used as the base for the drawing, but coloring it with the LED lights made it appear like a new drawing. That is art; as the meaning is changed.
