This personal project by photographer David Eger calls out to the inner geek and nerd in all of us, using figurines from the famous Star Wars franchise to not only explore the creative possibilities they provide, but to also recreate famous historic images, photographs and paintings. Although some images are quite humorous, the process in which the photographs were taken is what really sets this series apart and demonstrates Eger’s skills.
In contrast to usual mainstay ‘Photoshopping’ which has become a photographer’s best friend, Eger shot each scene in a real life backdrop reminiscent if not nearly identical to the original counterparts thanks to his strong attention to detail. With as talented and iconic as the original works were, this creative alteration really approaches the subject matter from a completely new angle, one that is sure to be appreciated by all of us as well as an inspiration to push ourselves when it comes to our own work.
