Polyhedra Modular Coffee Table | Haldane Martin

Now this is pretty cool. This Polyhedra Modular Coffee Table designed by Haldane Martin of Cape Town, South Africa is a table made from what the designers describe as ‘LEGO for adults’- modular polyhedra with embedded magnets which can be stacked and rearranged. The forms are inspired by the Weaire-Phelan structure- a solution to what is referred to as the ‘Kelvin Problem’ which asks how space could be partitioned in to equal cellular volumes with the lease surface area between them, as well as by images of human bones as viewed under an electron microscope.
