In 1977, Richard Rogers established his architectural firm in London, which was followed by teaming up with Graham Stirk and Ivan Harbour later on. The Rogers Stirk Harbour firm will be having a 10th-year-anniversary celebration later this year.
Three World Trade Center encompasses a two-million-square-foot (190,000-square-meter) area designated for retail and office spaces. In the summer of 2016, the concrete core of the building started appearing, while in October 2016, the exterior steel structure reached maximum height. In August 2017, the glossy facades were finished.

The original design of the New York building included four spires, on each corner of the tower’s top, but they were later dropped. However, if the spires were still there, they would have extended the height of the building to be 1,168 feet (356 meters). The edifice still lingers within the criteria of a supertall skyscraper which ranges in height from 984 feet (300 meters) to 1,989 feet (600 meters).
Ranking 10 on the list of the tallest buildings in the United States, Three World Center is located amidst Four World Trade Center and the Oculus. Four World Trade Center was designed by  Japanese architect Fumihiko Maki, and it was finished in 2013. The Oculus was created by Spanish starchitect Santiago Calatrava and was opened in 2016.

The site that was demolished after the terror attacks of 9/11 is now comprising towers of different heights which surround a central museum and memorial honoring the victims of the attacks. The masterplan of the developing site was created by Daniel Libeskind after winning a competition.
