The Design of The Miraie Lext House by Kengo Kuma:

In the center of a busy city (Nagoya), Kengo Kuma made a warm and human banquet hall covered with a large roof. The architects didn’t want a building like a closed box, so they placed the entire structure under a sloped roof to express the space like a well-preserved forest. By using large cedar and larch pieces, they gave a rhythmic variation to the ceiling and walls. Space was further enlivened by the passing of light through the ceiling like komorebi, or light filtering down through the trees in a forest.
