Zaha Hadid Architects among finalists for Scandinavia’s tallest skyscraper in Gothenburg, Sweden

Here are the five final proposals in the architecture competition for what will become their new skyscraper and Scandinavia’s tallest building. All finalists, who will receive 500 000 each, have put in a considerable effort in its proposals.- No matter which of the proposals which the jury ultimately selected may Sweden a new building of high architectural class that will generate interest worldwide, says city architect Björn Siesjö.

On June 17, the jury will announce which of the five proposals that won.

The five finalists are: 

Ian Simpson Architects, Manuelle Gautrand Architects – Equator, AS – Entasis, Wingårdhs Arkitektkontor and Zaha Hadid Architects

All these proposals, however, submitted anonymously.

skyscraper height: 214 meters

Name of proposal: Swelling

skyscraper height: 202.1 meters

Name of proposal: North Star
skyscraper height: 230 meters

Proposal # 5
Name of proposal: The Kiss
of the skyscraper height: 215 meters
