Trump is Getting Involved in the “Design” of the Mexico Border Wall

US President Donald Trump tweeted about the “Design” of the Mexico Border Wall:

“I am reading that the great border wall will cost more than the government originally thought, but I have not gotten involved in the design or negotiations yet,” the US President Donald Trump tweeted last Sunday. This was in reaction to the leaked report from the Department of Homeland Security which estimates the cost of the 2000-mile-wall along the borders with Mexico to be $21 billion, far exceeding the original figure suggested by Trump which was $12 billion. The report, also, indicates that the construction of the Mexico border wall would take up to three years. So, Trump made it clear that he has not got personally involved in the design or negotiations yet. It seems that the president would be giving his own vision on the “design” of the wall to make it cost less. About his involvement, he continued to say “”When I do, just like with the F-35 FighterJet or the Air Force One Program, price will come WAY DOWN!”

The borders between the US and Mexico has already a 650-mile-long fencing; however, Trump’s wall will go through all the mountains and terrains and so the cost has dramatically raised. Trump’s initial thought to solve this problem was to have Mexico pay the bill for the wall construction, but the country has directly refused, and the Mexican president has confirmed it more than once. “I’ve said time and again; Mexico won’t pay for any wall.” Said the Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto in a televised address.

The issue of the border wall cost has triggered an international wave of ironic responses, among which is the Ikea Border Wall and Estudio 3.14’s Pink Wall.
