Top 20 Colleges

Released Monday, Princeton Review’s ranking of the Top 20 Colleges with the Happiest Students has named Vanderbilt University as the college with the happiest students in the United States, Virginia Tech at No. 2, Claremont McKenna College at No. 3 and Kansas State University in fourth. The survey was based on an 80-question survey that was completed by 136,000 students from 380 colleges and universities across the country

If you know Vanderbilt students, this ranking won’t come as a surprise because they are a really happy group! Vanderbilt University has 6,851 students enrolled and its tuition is roughly $42,000. Vanderbilt’s entire campus is an arboretum, making the school grounds feel as residential and removed as a university in a college town, while still being just a few miles from the vibrant Nashville music scene. The college also made its way in to nine other lists from The Princeton Review, and consistently ranked among the top 20 universities in the country by U.S. News & World Report.

“Every college in our book offers outstanding academics,” Robert Franek, the guide’s author and Princeton Review senior vice president and publisher, said in a statement. “These colleges differ significantly in their program offerings, campus culture, locales, and cost. Our purpose is not to crown one college ‘best’ overall or to rank these distinctive schools one to 379 on any single topic. We present our 62 ranking lists to give applicants the broader base of campus feedback to choose the college that’s best for them.”
