There’s just something sexy about a building with mysterious green-glowing windows. Now of course this green glow could signify the presence of a mad scientist, in which case- not so sexy. But more probably it’s just that someone set up and took one hell of a money shot photo. Sexy. This is the Sports Hall Bale, designed by 3LHD and built in Bale, Croatia.

The town is home to only some 1000 people and the new sports hall is its second largest structure, after the church of course. That said, the Hall will double its function of sports facility with that of a community gathering place.

It was desired for the Hall to be completed in only 11 months and as such is constructed predominantly from prefab components- this is evidenced by the strong course lines revealing the unit of modularity used. The surface of these prefab units is finished in local stone, drawing inspiration from a local traditional dwelling, the kažun.
