This is the era of globalization and communication networking through the super highway. In near future Bangladesh will be definitely the part of his global network. Therefore, efficient physical networking throughout the country will play a very significant role in the economic development of the country. With the development of the Narayanganj river port with bus and railway station it has become a very significant part of the trading and business of the country. Being a trading centre Narayanganj has its very important role to play as a business hub of the country. Therefore it is easily visible that Narayanganj is not a separate part from the rest of the economic activities of the country. Whole country requires a very compact and efficient communication network to cope with the South Asian business trend. Therefore the Port with multilevel terminal has very long-term impact over the economic growth of the region as well as the country. The complex is designed to serve the passengers with 3 modality- bus, train & water taxi. Where the buses arrive at elevated platform by flyover and depart at grade. The train moves at grade. A grand central lobby is provided to connect 3 modalities which can contain huge gathering of passengers and serves with little interruption. The whole complex is naturally ventilated. The perforated roof is made of steel ribs and low emissive glass which allows adequate air and light. The huge glass building replaces the traditional facade and establishes a seamless interaction between the interior of the station and the environment of city. An essential feature of the new station will be its lake of defining facade rather an open plaza and an un impeded access will highlight its own consistent principle of permeability and communication “Anthropomorphic” F shaped columns made of concrete and steel, tree like structure and overall structural system is influenced from nature, like human figure, branches of tree etc.
