Valerio compares the architecture of this modern era to glass palaces wherein the people who live do not even have time to greet each other. Le Corti di Milano celebrates the original dream of Garibaldi the Italian patriot who united the Italian regions into one Italian state. It is the dream of union among people, of the old architectural buildings with their courtyards where people feel safe and cared for.

In these courtyards, when one looks up to see the sky, one sees rows of windows that contain people who have come to know and care for each other like a family. It is truly this architecture of the courtyard, that builds not just homes, but also relationships.
