Kaleidoscopic crystal floor installations Suzan Drummen

Suzan Drummen, the Dutch artist, was able to create psychedelic, neat and mesmerizing fractal-like installations made out of mirrors, brightly colored glass, optical glass, crystal, chromed metal, and precious stones.

Most of her circular patterns grow exponentially out of each other making 3D carpets and walls – sometimes part of a ceiling – and that alter the space and reflect the light in all directions to examine the idea of illusion and optical effect exploring beauty which is the main idea of her work.

From a long distance all you would see is symmetrical patterns but with a closer look you will see complex individual parts. Unfortunately her artworks are vulnerable and ephemeral as all these sparkling particles are fixed on walls by pins and placed loosely on the floor.
