Hyper-matrix Vertical Kinetic Landscapes Jonpasang

Hyper-Matrix is an installation created for the Hyundai Motor Group Exhibition Pavilion in Korea, the 2012 Yeosu EXPO site. The exhibition comprises of thousands of 30x30cm cubes, which make up the internal facade of the building in addition to a specially made steel construction to support the projected cubes that create the internal facade of the building. Watch the video for more information.

The collection of lightweight blocks extrude through the face of the structure, creating a virtually infinite series of configurations. While the pixels sweep through the room, sounds evoke a grand sense of interaction between the audience and surrounding space. As wave patterns ripple across the interior environment, additional digital mapping effects cover the surface to visually enhance the dimensionality of the performance. The lightweight cubes move slowly in and out of the facade, creating an infinite number of configurations, 180 degree, landscape, etc. Furthermore, sounds evoke a grand sense of interaction between the audience and surrounding space.
