Dr Fibonazi’s Surgery Clinic

For centuries, we have built some ‘rules’ and ‘guidelines’ that are regularly used by designers and artists so as to be considered more aesthetically as well as technically acceptable to the masses. Use of Golden ration in buildings as well as paintings is not a foreign concept as it has been applied repeatedly throughout history. Igor KKK, a Moscow-based designer used such ‘guidelines’ as a mocking experiment to ‘achieve perfection’.

The designer decided to apply Fibonacci series and Golden ratio to the portraits of people most idolized by the public: celebrities. He has developed a graphic project “Dr Fibonazi Surgery Clinic”. Using this project, he warps the portraits of well-known celebrities based on the mathematical equation formulated using above mentioned concepts. It is done as a show of mathematically idealizing the celebrities.

The results are nothing short of hilarious and weird. While Nicholas Cage appears more like a rectangular puzzle gone wrong, Sylvester Stallone appears more like a twisted version of himself disorientated at another level.

This project is basically a mockery to the school of thought which tries to explain the brilliance of creativity under such concepts. It also pokes at the reverence with which people idolize the beauty of celebrities. This shows that beauty is in the eyes of beholder and can’t be subjected to any predetermined notions.
