Chambre avec vue | Atelier du Pont

Chambre avec vue

The site benefits from an exceptional location with unobstructed views not overlooked on the Seine and facing south to a garden. The building is involved in the formation of the new Parisian landscape as well as that of the district. The project is designed with a straightforward writing, present and calm. A building scheduled to screened rigorously facade. A checkerboard tower of 50m with a regular pattern and abstract that captures both near as far.

To the south, the building takes on a domestic basis, overlooking a square creates an input plot and participates in plant landscape neighborhood by a green wall at the entrance and a community garden at R + 7. On the 6th floor hosts a large deck “the students home,” a place out of the image of a nomad tent opposite the Seine River with an exceptional view for work and relax.Despite the high-density area of the building household porosities between the island and the heart of the Seine. The distribution by external walkways of the student residence (promoting exchanges and meetings) and compact housing allow free outdoor spaces and a flaw any height between the two programs.

Mixing family housing and student housing within the same program reveals the major challenge is the new district to Paris: imagine a modern, mixed and dynamic, where the density and removing the ceiling heights release space for residents and offers them a better living. This is an opportunity to increase the use in floors and roofs to invest places unusual.
