Cardboard Furniture | Virginie Daenekyndt

Cardboard Furniture by Virginie Daenekyndt, a French national living in Italy for over 25 years, lives in Amelia in Umbria in her country house with her husband and 2 children. After many years as a dancer and choreographer in Europe and Canada has decided to direct their creativity to design objects. Always very sensitive to the prolem of re-cycling, has decided to engage in the project Atelier del Cartone starting to make a series of cardboard furniture where the recycled cardboard is enhanced and enriched. Precisely the idea of using a waste product as a resource has stimulated the fantasy of Virginie pushing to create this cardboard furniture from a material left to bring him new life. Each piece is made with great attention to detail and each piece of furniture is unique and unrepeatable. The forms are often reminiscent of his childhood retro furniture, while the colors are bright and modern. It is probably this mix of ancient and modern makes of mobile objects Virginie very special and of great visual impact.
