Cairo Metro Tower | Ahmed Rabie Mouhamed Hamed

During the past few years, Egypt has witnessed significant changes in terms of the increase of population, of course this was more apparent  in frightening increase and congestion of transport network users particularly in Greater Cairo with its population of 8.9 million according to  the latest statistics for 2013. From this standpoint, this proposal deals with one of the most important and crowded transportation buildings in Egypt , metro . The hardest was choosing which architectural language to speak representing the vast of spectrum of world civilizations lived in Egypt  up to the 21st century, especially if we want this language to express such architectural momentum which formed our collective thougths. Hoping that an architectural langue became available who to address  this massage (children –  men – women …etc.) and to which intellectual level ( student – teacher – astronomer – Doctor – ..) and which social  or cultural group …etc. Here the idea of the proposal is split into new trials to rephrase our Fundamental architectural concepts (those we often use)  such trails collect the shreds of the vast architectural momentum and chaos that contains within systems, arranged and organized in accuracy , and  that  all enriches and motivates the free mind new architects to embrace such new trails in rephrasing the forms and function of fundamental  architecture.

Here come chaos theory and fractal geometry with their fundamental mathematical and physical concepts which assume  that “ everything seems irregular and untidy really carries inside accurate and tidy system“ ,so everything that  seems chaotic is actually considered an integral part of the dynamic system which here represents the architectural system. So both chaos theory and fractal geometry endue the present architectural proposal with digital and mathematical form adopted mathematical equations and modern  computer software(CPro ”chaos program”- matlab12)  in the output of architectural forms. And using such this mathematical equations and modern computer software programmes  we could identify and analyze points of congestion (positive and negative nodes curves – typology survses ) in most crowded places in Egypt(metro ), And take out the alternatives architecture and architectural solutions in arithmetical forms especially in HADAYQ EL ASHGAR  station  in 6’s of October city in Egypt designed by NATIONAL AUTHROTY TRANSPORTATION (NAT) to be multi-purpose project as shown below:

– HADAYQ EL ASHGAR  metro station  .

– Tram station for transport within October city.

– Regional bus Station.

-5 stars hotel – entertainment and commercial area .

-taxi and private car multi-stores parking area : To upset the bottlenecks within Cairo  down town by encouraging

To leave the car in the garage for the multi-stores which take 5000 cars so the passengers can get off to places Cairo down town  using the subway.

So the present proposal is unique not only for its innovative architecture but also for its functionalism which means presenting innovative solutions to the most common problems faced by the design of metro stations in Egypt : eg enormous consumption of energy for lighting and ventilation using the solar cells roofs and exploiting the resulting energy from the friction between the wagon and rails, rushing air in front of the wagon when it entered the sidewalk moving the fans  fixed down the sidewalk to generate power for the station. As for ventilation , distributing air to the interior courtyards allow moving air as a result of position receiving the favorable natural air flow making differences in air pressure inside of the building without the need for Industrial ventilation day or night.

we can also use the “gray water technique ” – “green roof technique ” to dismiss thermal building loads and water saving , especially that the nature region is  desertlike. Project Name : Cairo Metro Tower
