Bow Tie Chair

One man army- designer Scott Lin of the Taiwanese Gridesign Studio has created this fancy looking low tech ‘bow tie chair’ out of laminated bamboo. Designed to be simple, this bow tie chair is so lightweight that it can be lifted using only one hand. For those unfamiliar, laminated bamboo is a low cost replacement for wood, and can be used wherever there is not much load factor to be taken into consideration. This bow tie chair has been constructed out of 13 sections of laminated bamboo, which achieves its bend by being heated. 
The unique design allows for ventilation in the spacing between the bent strips, so the chair remains cool immaterial of the temperature. Apart from being environmentally conscious yet fashionable, this chair also has provision for storage, on its sides.
